Privacy at Neckstrip
This site sets no cookies, runs no analytics or ad scripts and asks for no personal details. The one thing Neckstrip records is a tap on a “Get the app” link, logged on the server behind go.mybarberlicense.com, never in your browser.
What happens while you read
Neckstrip is a static site: every page is a plain file, the same for every visitor. The practice test runs in your browser; your answers are not saved or sent anywhere, and a reload clears them.
Like any website, the hosting network that delivers these files sees your IP address and browser details in order to serve the page and block abuse. Neckstrip adds no tracking on top of that and builds no profile of you.
The app link: one logged tap
Every “Get the app” button points to go.mybarberlicense.com/app. That address sends an iPhone to the App Store and shows other devices a short page with the app badge and a link back to the free practice test. Each request to it, including a tap on that badge, is written to a click log on the server, after the redirect has already gone out. No cookie is set and no script runs.
| Recorded | What it is |
|---|---|
| When | date and time of the tap |
| Page | the Neckstrip page you tapped from |
| Button | which button: top of page, menu, mid-page or end of page |
| Device | operating system and the browser’s user-agent string |
| Destination | App Store, or the practice test on this site |
| Network | IP address and the network (ASN) and provider it belongs to |
| Rough location | country, region and city, estimated by the network edge from the IP |
| Referrer | the page address your browser reports, if any |
The log exists to answer one question: which pages send readers to the app, so the pages that do not can be fixed. It holds no name, no email and no ID that follows you between visits.
The App Store link also carries a label naming this site, so the App Store’s own statistics show that a visit came from Neckstrip. The label names the site, not you.
Once you leave Neckstrip
In the App Store, Apple’s privacy terms apply, and the app’s own privacy details are on its App Store listing. Links to NIC, testing vendors and state boards take you to their sites and their policies; Neckstrip passes nothing about you to them beyond what your browser sends to any site you open.
No selling, no ad sharing, and how to ask
- Click records are not sold, rented or traded.
- They are not shared with advertisers or data brokers.
- They are used only to compare Neckstrip pages with each other.
- There is no inbox or form, so the site never collects a name or an email address.
To ask what the click log holds about you, or to ask for a record to be removed, use App Support on the app’s App Store page: tap “Get the app” on an iPhone and scroll to the developer’s details. Since the log has no name or email in it, give the date and rough time of the tap and the device you used; that is the only way to find the record.
If any of this changes, this page changes first, with a new effective date. Questions about how the practice material is made are answered on the about page; everything else goes through the contact page.
