No inbox, no form, two routes
Contact Neckstrip
Neckstrip has no email address, no form and no phone line. Reports about a practice question, a fact on a page, the app, a subscription or a bug go through the app’s App Store page and its App Support link; questions about your exam or your license go to your state board or the vendor that runs your exam.
Report a wrong question, a wrong fact or a bug
Open the App Store page
Tap “Get the app” on any page, or open the app’s App Store page. On an iPhone it lands on the App Store listing; on a computer you get a short page with the App Store badge.
Find App Support
Scroll the listing to the developer’s details near the bottom and open App Support. Account, purchase, subscription and bug reports about the app go there too.
Send the four things that settle it
A report with all four gets checked first:
- the page address, copied from your browser bar;
- the first few words of the question, or the table row, you think is wrong;
- what you think the right answer or number is;
- where it comes from: your board’s candidate bulletin, the NIC bulletin or a textbook page.
A link to your board’s bulletin settles a dispute in minutes. “My instructor said so” starts a search.
Refunds for an App Store purchase are Apple’s call, through your Apple account; nobody on this site can issue one.
How corrections are handled
The claim is read against the source
Exam facts are checked against the documents each page links, starting with NIC’s Barber Theory bulletin (NIC candidate bulletin) and your state’s board or vendor bulletin.
A wrong fact is fixed and dated
The page is corrected and the “Checked” date under its heading moves to the day of the fix, so you can see the page was reworked.
A wrong answer key comes off the page
The question is pulled, rewritten, and checked again with the answer hidden before it goes back into a set. It does not return on one person’s say-so.
A state difference gets a note, not a new key
The practice questions follow the NIC national outline. If your state teaches a rule differently, the page may gain a “your state may differ” note while the question keeps its national answer.
Questions only your board or exam vendor can answer
Neckstrip cannot see your file with any board or vendor and cannot move an exam booking. Skip us for these and go straight to the source:
| Your question | Where it goes |
|---|---|
| Application, exam date, admission letter, score report | the vendor that runs your exam, such as PSI (PSI barber exams); which vendor your state uses is on NIC’s map (NIC exam map) |
| Hours, fees, passing score, license status | your state board; the license by state page links each one, e.g. TDLR for Texas, the California board, NY Department of State |
| Which NIC exam your state gives | your state board, then NIC’s exam types page |
| App purchases, subscriptions and refunds | Apple, through your Apple account |
| A practice question or a fact on this site | App Support, on the app’s App Store page (steps above) |
What Neckstrip can do is explain the theory. The about page shows how the questions are checked, and the privacy page lists the one thing the site records: a tap on the app button.
